For peace of mind, the Hongkong Post offers a comprehensive insurance service which covers your merchandise against the unlikely event of loss or damage during delivery from Hong Kong to overseas. This optional service is marketed by CJM Insurance Brokers (H.K.) Ltd and underwritten by Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., Hong Kong Branch.

For each US$8 of Premium, the Sum Insured be upto US$600 of shipment's declared commercial value.

Notes:

1. Coverage: all risks of physical loss or damage of Speedpost items by any external cause not excluded herein.
2. Excluded Risks: due to delay; inherent vice or nature of the Speedpost items; confiscation, destruction, condemnation or detention of the Speedpost items by customs authority at destination or its representative on the grounds of illegality, mis-description, mis-declaration or mis-valuation.
3. Insurance on "Document" such as paper; identity, bank draft, invoice, passport, script, contract, deed or alike, must be clearly stated. Compensation amount shall be on reproduction value (re-apply or re-issue costs etc). All consequential loss or cost incurred will not be covered.
4. Prohibited Items: All tickets, air ticket, animals, antiques, bullion, currency, bank notes, valuable papers, securities, all fine jewelries, crystal, stones and minerals, precious metals, furs, asbestos, human remains including ashes, firearms, explosive and parts or thereof and ammunition, hazardous or combustible materials (as defined in IATA regulations), narcotics and illegal property and any items prohibited by any law, regulation or statute of any federal, state or local government of any country to or through which the shipment may pass.
5. Incorrect or inaccurate description or incorrect premium will cause invalid claim.
6. Any compensation if made by Hong Kong Post for loss or damage to goods will be deducted from the total claim amount by the Insurance Company.
