Subscribe to the BlogDublin may not be considered by many as a fashion capital of the world (or even Europe) but taking into account its size and off-Continent location it certainly punches above its weight, at least in the style stakes. This evolution from wasteland to city of sartorial wonder is partly due to boutiques like Circus. One of a kind and at the helm of the Dublin style renaissance, it's been a fixture for any native or tourist interested in fashion/clothing or just art in general.
Sadly, it's difficult to foster a certain fashion tendency in this cultural climate. While the Irish are without doubt waking up to European designers and embracing an eclectic approach to their wardrobe, we've not been spared the economic shit-storm and the store will be closing its doors this weekend. Still, Circus has definitely left its impression on the Dublin cityscape, proving that there is a widely-held fervour for all things indie-designer-fashion in this city. I may no longer have somewhere to source IO-Berlin and BStore but the memories (and amazing pleated black trousers) should mitigate this somewhat.
Get down to Circus over the weekend and bid adieu in style, snap labels like Henrik Vibskov, Reality Studio, Carin Wester and BStore at scandalously good sale prices, or peruse and purchase some of the work produced as part of the Cheap as Chips exhibition. Oh, and they're clearing out their vintage too! Aisling says it's in true Circus style (read: subtly crazy) and thus, well, very desirable indeed.
