Women’s Club fashion show takes a travel theme

The Rancho Murieta Women’s Club held its fall fashion show and luncheon, “Fashion Ports of Call,” at the Country Club Wednesday. Members of the club modeled clothes from area shops for an audience of about 200 women.
Judy Dolata, chair of the event, narrated the show along with Mary Brennan, who provided humorous examples of foreign signage where something was lost in translation. After their turn on stage, the 15 models — Louise Gumbinger among them — circulated among the tables to offer an up-close look at the clothes.
By the time everyone returned to the stage for the grand finale, the audience had learned red is the color of the year, and boots, long jackets and black pants are a must. “If you don’t have a pair of black pants in your suitcase, you’re not going anywhere,” cautioned Dolata.
